Forages M. Rouillier Drilling reaches a drilling record length
M. Rouillier Drilling, leader in surface diamond drilling for the mining industry, announced that they have reached, in June 2007, a hole drilling record for the Abitibi and the North West regions of Quebec during a drilling contract for Alexis Minerals Corporation (Alexis).
M. Rouillier Drilling has reached a length record of 2779 meters during a contract for Alexis in the region of Val-d’Or in Abitibi. “The technical challenge was to achieve a target at a vertical depth of 2000 meters. We had to use a few wedges and directional drilling to reach this record” explains Mario Rouillier, President of M. Rouillier Drilling. “With 2779 meters long, we can truly say that it was quite a challenge for the drilling system as well as our team of drillers” adds Mr Rouillier.
“We are very satisfied with the work of M. Rouillier Drilling. We had a target of 150 meters in diameter and the combined efforts of our geologists with those of the drillers enabled us to reach the target to a vertical depth of 2.0 km. We would especially like to thank the team of drillers who was able to be very cooperative and patient with us during 6 months” mentions Jean Girard, Director of exploration at Alexis.
